Evidently, Valve has been working on a “huge update” for a while and they pushed Diretide aside in order to make progress on this update. Well, Valve has finally responded as to the lack of an event in a new blog post.įirst of all, Diretide is still coming, just a tad late.
People naturally overreacted, complaining everywhere they could and even review-bombin the Dota 2 Metacritic page. This year, however, Halloween came and went with no mention of a new Diretide. It was a great distraction from the traditional game which required a good amount of strategy to see success (also gave a lot of items). However, Roshan would roam around the map, targeting random heroes until he got some candy himself. For those unaware, last year at Halloween time, Valve released and event called Diretide, which saw players collecting candy pieces from around the map and depositing them into their candy buckets. A lot of Dota 2players have lamented the lack of a Diretide event this year.
